Fred Stromberg (Mark Keller), junior partner of "Zuericher Nachrichten" will take over his father's publishing company shortly and is about to marry pretty Katrin Stengele (Cecilia Kunz).

A business trip to Cologne comes to a violent end when Fred is knocked down. He wakes up in a hospital with amnesia and no identity papers.

A young Turkish nurse, Sezen Tashan (Mandala Tayde), takes care of the distraught Fred and nicknames him "Shorty". During the unsuccessful search for his identity Fred and Sezen fall in love.

Fred's father, Leonhard Stromberg (Ezard Haußmann), hires a private detective to help with the search for Fred...
