Markus Schneider
finances his studies by being a Courier on rollerblades in Berlin.
What Markus
does not know, however, is the fact that a group of corrupt cops use the very
same Courier Service for making extra money on the side: Superintendents Faller
and Gruber as well as their boss Juergen Meifart steal confiscated cocaine from
the evidence room of the BKA (Bundeskriminalamt = Federal Office Of Criminal
Investigation) and sell it to wealthy customers, using the Courier Service
as a means of transport.
Two of the
customers, Gerhard Huebner and Andreas Sterlitz, only keep enough cocaine for
their immediate needs and resell the rest right away. They even secretly tape a
conversation they have with Faller and Gruber. This tape would provide hard
evidence against the cops. Faller and Gruber do not take the blackmail attempt
well and kill Gerhard and Andreas. The double murder is then pinned on Markus.
Before
Markus knows what is going on, half of Berlin’s police force is already after
him.
Markus goes
into hiding at Bjoern’s place. Bjoern who works for the same Courier Service is
deeply involved in the cocaine business himself and sells Markus out to the
corrupt cops.
Markus is on
the run again.
Police
Officers Stephan Hartmann and Petra Saenger are to assist Faller and Gruber in
their investigations. Stephan and Petra become suspicious towards Faller and
Gruber when Markus ends up on the roof of a pleasure boat, loudly proclaiming
that he is innocent. Markus also talks about evidence against Faller and Gruber.
When Markus pulls out the incriminating tape he is shot immediately by Gruber.
The tape
falls into the Spree River and Markus ends up in a hospital.
Faller,
Gruber and Meifart come up with a plan to kidnap Markus’ girlfriend counting on
Markus to leave the hospital to save Laura. The plan almost works. Officer
Hartmann stops Markus in front of the hospital. Hartmann’s thorough
investigations led him to the cocaine deals and he convinces Markus of his
honest intentions. Hartmann and Markus join forces and rush together to the
meeting place designated by Faller.
Upon arrival
Markus is hardpressed to save Laura’s life as well as his own…
